Cinco Jotas paleta comes from the front legs of 100% Iberian purebred pigs that are able to roam freely. It is perfect for enjoying at home, either on its own or paired with other dishes. Enhance your favourite recipes and special moments with its intense and captivating aroma.
APPEARANCE
The maza has a red colour, with uniform marbling of fat. The babilla is a darker red colour, with less marbling of fat.
AROMA
Deep and persistent, above all around the babilla. Noticeably saline notes.
TEXTURE
The 'maza' (the widest part of the ham) is fibrous with an unctuous texture on the palate. The fat in the babilla melts instantly on the tongue.
FLAVOUR
The ham from the maza has an intense and persistent flavour, showing balanced sweet and salty notes. In the babilla, the melting fat takes over from the sweetness in balancing the saline flavour.
